INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Read in its Entirety Before Starting your Project

It is recommended to have freshly washed hands and no lotion on them for best application!

Each decal consists of three layers:

         The top layer (Transfer Tape)

         The middle layer (Vinyl Media)

         The bottom layer (Wax Paper Backing)

The Transfer Tape top layer allows you to grab the Vinyl Media and apply it to your Wall, Car, Boat or wherever it might be. Once you squeegee it down into place, you can then remove the transfer tape leaving you with a perfect decal.

Decals over 2 feet in size will require two people for easiest installation. 

INSTRUCTIONS:  

         Make sure your choice of placement is free of debris (dust, dirt, etc.) by cleaning and waiting for the surface to completely dry! 

         If applying to a vehicle, you must not apply to a freshly waxed surface as it may not adhere properly.  You can wax afterwards without any problems.

         If applying to a freshly painted surface - it is strongly recommended you wait 30 days before applying decal to ensure full curing process.

Mark with pencil or tape the application surface at the top edges and top center to ensure you apply the decal in the exact place you want it.

NOTE:  For decals that are shipped in a tube - Unroll your decal and flatten for at least 30 minutes prior to application.

If for some crazy reason the decal should arrive bent you are still in luck. The decal itself isn't what is bent it is the paper below the vinyl that is. The vinyl is very flexible so it will apply and you won't even notice anything. Just be sure you follow the instructions.

         Take the decal and lay it on a flat surface and squeegee it (pressing at an angle so not to tear decal) so the top layer adheres again to the decal itself.

         Pull the transfer tape back slowly at a 45 degree angle - as close as possible to the image – do not pull up or away!

         Some of the cracks on the design may require you to use your fingernail to release it.  Once the decal is off the wax paper (don’t throw the wax paper out until the decal is completely installed) it can be applied to your chosen surface.  

Decals can last in any climate -- but they must be applied at about 70 degrees. They can be applied any time really, but this is what is recommended. 

The best way to apply a decal is
dependant upon the surface application:

Flat surface (no texture or non-porous) - it is recommended to use the squeegee.

Textured or Porous surface – it is highly recommended to use a thick dry towel instead of a squeegee to apply.  This will prevent the wall surface from cutting through the decal.  It is also recommended to utilize the Wax Paper Backing (that you already removed) – smooth side facing the decal when rubbing the towel in circular motion to adhere to wall.  Press firmly but don’t put any elbow grease into it.  Use your finger to press decal into crevices.

If applying to a porous surface, such as brick or cinder block - the brick must be painted (it can be a clear coat) and not applied on natural brick itself.

Don't worry if you see air bubbles, just poke a couple of times with a needle and smooth out.

If applying to a surface that opens/folds--i.e., door or hot tub cover, you will need to cut the decal where it folds or opens.

If you don't want some of the cracks in the design or need to eliminate some to accommodate the size of your surface, simply cut that area off with sharp scissors or exacto knife, do not pull or tear off with your hands.

The decals are permanent decals but don't let that scare you as they come off really easy - you just need to know what to do. The best way is to use a hair dryer or heat gun and the decal turns to butter and comes right off. If you are removing the decal from glass, the method that is preferred and WON’T SCRATCH YOUR GLASS is to use a razor blade, and scrape with the flat edge of the blade (don't cut into the glass with the sharp side). Using both methods together is the easiest way to remove decals from glass.  If removing from a painted drywall surface, some of the paint "may" pull off.  Removing from a tinted vehicle window will not cause any damage to the tint if instructions are followed.
